HAGER GROUP AND BERKER

Cartel Offices Approve Acquisition of Switch Manufacturer Berker

On 9th August 2010, the Hager Group received the go-ahead from the Polish Cartel Office for the purchase of Berker, the switch manufacturer, following the green light already given by the German monopolies watchdog. The acquisition is thus legally binding. "We are delighted that the new addition to the family has come in the shape of such knowledgeable and pleasant new colleagues. We can now start work together on combining and streamlining our activities as usefully as possible", said Daniel Hager, Hager Group CEO.

Berker brings to the new set-up all their skills and the experience of working successfully for over 90 years. With the renowned brand set to continue under the roof of the Hager Group, the Berker locations will act as a competence centre for Hager's international switch operations and assume the leading role in this market sector. As a brand, Berker enjoys the respect of the industry in general and architects in particular.

The acquisition of a major European switch manufacturer represents a strategic extension of the product range, the ultimate aim being to provide customers with a wider choice of options and solutions from a single source for the installation of electrical systems in buildings.
