Radio bus systems are innovative installation systems which can be used in a wide range of applications. This technology makes installation easier, whether in new buildings or renovation projects, single family houses, or in this case, in a church. The congregation of the evangelische Hoffnungskirche in Koblenz decided to fit its church retrospectively with a modern radio bus system.
Built in the 1970s, the church could be equipped with state-of-the-art electrical installations without any major structural work, thanks to the radio bus technology. At the same time, the interior of the imposing church building with its remarkable stained glass window was remodelled. New seating, modern lighting inside the church, and lighting control via the radio bus system help provide a pleasant atmosphere in this sacred building.
And the Berker radio bus technology also provides added convenience, something which is particularly appreciated by the congregation's sexton, Hartmut Koch. Now he can turn all of the lights on or off with a single click using handy "all OFF" and "all ON" commands. He does this by using either the tactile sensor on the wall or the handheld remote control – the latter without even having to enter the church. "The system has been well-received by our congregation here. What is most attractive is that it is easy for me to program various light scenarios by myself. That way the light is always perfectly controlled, both inside the church and in the galleries", says Koch enthusiastically.
